On Sunday, March 30th, The Asian Leadership Initiative, in partnership with The Asian American Foundation, hosted its inaugural summit at the Charles Hotel Ballroom in Cambridge, MA. Open to the public, the event brought together students, professionals, and community members for a full day of thought-provoking dialogue and connection centered on AAPI leadership and empowerment.
The summit featured an extraordinary lineup of speakers, including Joseph Bae (Co-CEO of KKR), acclaimed actor Daniel Dae Kim, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), former Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su, former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, Harvard Medical School instructor and physician Dr. Rushika Fernandopulle, and Sam Hyun, Director of Government Relations for TAAF. Through a series of dynamic panels and intimate fireside chats, the speakers shared stories of resilience, public service, industry leadership, and the nuances of navigating identity in high-profile spaces.
Attendees engaged directly with speakers during audience Q&As and enjoyed food and refreshments throughout the day. The summit concluded with an evening reception, where speakers mingled with select ALI members recognized for their exceptional engagement throughout the year.
