Our mission is to empower the next generation of Asian American leaders by fostering a supportive environment that bridges the gap between aspiring professionals and accomplished mentors. Through meaningful connections, skill development, and a strong community of like-minded peers, we aim to inspire and equip young Asian Americans with the tools and confidence needed to excel in their professional journeys.

Our Story

The Asian Leadership Initiative (ALI) seeks to empower the next generation of AAPI leaders. Today, AAPI are frequently excluded from conversations of diversity and inclusion despite our clear underrepresentation in leadership roles in politics, finance, and technology, this phenomenon being dubbed the “bamboo ceiling”. ALI hopes to break through this ceiling by bringing both AAPI mentors and leaders to young AAPI students.

Mentorship opportunities consist of pre-professional development events where AAPI students and professionals can convene and create career-enriching relationships. We also bring AAPI leaders to campus as speakers to provide both inspiration and wisdom to students who similarly want to shoot for the top of their respective fields.

Through our events, we hope to meaningfully enhance the lives of the students we reach and ultimately propel our community to new heights.
